Orchestria is a multiplayer locally networked rhythm game for Android. Each player takes a role in the song (Melody, Chorus, Bass, Rhythm), and they cooperate together to get the highest score possible. The goal of this game was to attempt to recreate the feeling of playing in a musical ensemble with others and have the collaborative aspect of playing your part in a larger piece. As such, Orchestria doesn’t use a backing track to produce the music, but instead produces the notes the player is supposed to make when they successfully hit the note markers. If players are in the same room together with their speakers on then it creates the full song from everybody correctly playing their parts. Developed in Unreal Engine with a custom network plugin that takes advantage of Google Nearby to make local connection easy and seamless.
